My project this year has been all about my family archives and the memories I've had with my family. I originally started recreating old images, for example :
I tried to recreate the old image in the present day. I thought this was a good idea to show my projects theme of memories. However, then I realised it was really repetitive. So I experimented showing my family archives in an indirect and less obvious way. Like this :
This was the first images that made me realise recreating the image in an indirect way worked better. It shows that things do change overtime and that I shouldn't try to recreate the memories just be grateful they they've happened. I felt these images helped me realise the meaning of this project hence why it's called 'Red Shirt'. The first image is my mum from the archived images. The second image is me in the same red shirt she wore all those years ago. I like this recreation because even though my mum and I have changed theres always objects that don't change with time. That's why these are the two images I chose for my degree show.
